Yes–I’m Starting a Copywriting Business in 2025

Look, here’s the thing: people still need help with their content.

I know, “Everyone just uses AI,” and “ No one needs a copywriter to write their stuff anymore,” are all common discussion points. And AI. is cool, and that’s saying something coming from someone like me; I have an MFA in Creative Writing and I teach English composition at a university. I know people use AI to do all kinds of things. The problem is, people still need someone to make sure their content is hitting the right notes and attracting the right people to their products and services. Even companies that use AI to create a lot of internal documentation need someone to make sure those technical documents are accessible for their employees and actually helping their employees be productive.

I’ve actually done this before. I started a copywriting business back in 2018, but only for a few months. I actually got a few clients, too. Then I got a job at a law firm and that was that. While working at the firm full time, I went to school for my MBA full-time and learned a lot, I mean a lot about business and marketing. Then, after I finished my MBA, I applied to a bunch of MFA in Creative Programs and got accepted. I transitioned to a career teaching after working at the law firm for over four years. After finishing my MFA, I got a job teaching at a university. I’e learned an awful lot through my jobs and my education. Believe me, people still need help with their online content.

So, that’s what this website is; my journey into starting my own writing and editing business. I’ll do my best to update anyone interested in this journey as regularly as I can. I’m also posting daily on Instagram, my business’s Facebook Page, and TikTok.

You can visit my services page here if you’re interested in getting help with your content.
